Workshop Computeralgebra Klagenfurt

On Sept. 24, 1996, the "Workshop Computeralgebra" took place at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria, in connection with the conference INFORMATIK'96, a conference jointly organized by the GI (Gesellschaft fuer Informatik) and the OeCG (Oesterreichische Computergesellschaft). The workshop war jointly chaired by F. Winkler (RISC-Linz) and J. Grabmeier (IBM Heidelberg). About 30 people participated in the workshop.
During this workshop, an Austrian interest group in computer algebra (AICA) was founded, F. Winkler acting as the founding chairman of this interest group. The group plans to cooperate with Austrian mathematical society (OeMG) and the Austrian Computer Society (OeCG).
